This report depicts the feasibility of LigaSure device by using the transperitoneal approach during laparoscopic radical prostatectomy.A 54-year-old man with localized adenocarcinoma of the prostate was referred for laparoscopic radical prostatectomy. Transperitoneal laparoscopic procedure was performed with LigaSure device. The procedure was completed with no difficulty. Total operative time was 130 min with an estimated blood loss of 30 mL. The final pathology revealed PT3aNoMx prostate cancer with negative margins. No infectious or bowel complications occurred. At 10-month follow-up, there was no evidence for prostate carcinoma recurrence. For dorsal vein complex and lateral prostatic pedicles closure and section during laparoscopic radical prostatectomy, the LigaSure device appears to be feasible. This is, to our knowledge, the first case of laparoscopic radical prostatectomy performed with LigaSure described in the indexed literature.
